Brown Mackie College

If you believe that good education is the key to a better life, then you know that a good life should not be an obstacle to better education.

And if you’re looking for a school that shares this philosophy, you’re likely to find an ideal partner in Brown Mackie College.

From years of experience in handling students and keeping in touch with its graduates, we know that surviving in a competitive world keeps dynamic and success-driven people constantly busy.  But these are the same people who realize that to get and stay ahead of the race – by launching a new career or advancing in the present one – one has to stock up on knowledge, skills, training and experience through formal education and course programs.

At Brown Mackie College, we understand your situation and goals.  And we’re committed to a mission to provide you with opportunities to work within your particular situation to achieve your personal goals – enough to guarantee what our slogan says:  you can fit advanced studies into your busy life.

The Brown Mackie College, a family of schools in 20 locations across 13 states, traces its history to the first of its institutions, the Kansas Wesleyan School of Business, which opened on September 12, 1892.  The school was incorporated as the Brown Mackie School of Business under the ownership of Mr. Perry E. Brown and Mr. A.B. Mackie, former instructors at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas.

The school, along with others, became part of the Brown Mackie College system of schools operated by numerous organizations and eventually united as a system under the parent company of American Education Centers (AEC).  After AEC was acquired by the Education Management Corporation of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2003, the system was renamed Brown Mackie College in November 2004 and now includes the schools formerly known as Southern Ohio College in Ohio and Kentucky, Asher School of Business in Georgia, Commonwealth Business College in Indiana and Illinois, Michiana College in Indiana, RETS Institute of Technology in Kentucky and Pennsylvania, RETS Medical and Business Institute in Kentucky, and AEC Texas Institute.

Every one of the institutions is focused on helping you pursue and complete the college education or course program you aspire for within your own time-line. We offer Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, Certificate and Diploma programs in general studies, business, early childhood education, health sciences, business, information technology, legal studies and design technologies.

Because we are equipped to address your specific needs, the program you choose will depend on your interests, needs, and schedules.

Our unique approach is our guarantee – and your advantage.

Flexibility and convenience characterize our approach, and this is highlighted by our novel specially-designed “one-course-a-month” program.  Under this program, you’ll need to concentrate on only one subject per month, before moving on to the next.  This way, you’re assured of a more focused learning environment for knowledge acquisition and skills training.

You’ll also find our class sizes smaller than the average college classroom size.  This is purposely designed to ensure that our students receive personal and individualized attention.  And, we offer day and evening classes to accommodate your busy family and work schedule.

We likewise strive to make each Brown Mackie College campus an active and dynamic learning community where you are encouraged and supported to achieve your goals, within you own timeline, in your chosen career path.
